Who runs this site
etherpoc — web engineer / cloud architect
I write software for a living, mostly web systems on AWS and Google Cloud. I built btengine, my own Python backtesting engine, so I could test automated FX trading ideas with data instead of hunches. This site is the public record of those tests, one experiment per article.

Editorial policy
Every article on this site follows these rules:
- Measured numbers only. Every figure comes from backtests on real minute-level price data (2015 to present) or from my own live accounts. No hypothetical returns, no “what if” math.
- Failed experiments get published too. Most articles on this site document ideas that did not work. Showing only winners would itself be misleading; the “rejected” category collects the failures.
- Profit factor and monthly return are always reported together. This is a house rule to prevent cherry-picking a single flattering metric.
- No promises of profit. However good a backtest looks, future results are not guaranteed. That is not boilerplate; it is the single most repeated lesson in this research.
Proof of real operation
Systems that survive verification are traded on my own real accounts. The results are logged monthly, using measured values only, in the live forward log — wins and losses alike.
